A stamp collection is something more than merely a collection of national emblems and armorial bearings, portraits of kings and queens or picturesque engravings and representations. It is, in effect, a history, a pictorial record of the development of peoples, states and continents since the advent of the postage stamp.
切手のコレクションは、単なる国章や紋章、王や女王の肖像画、絵になる彫刻や表象の収集以上の意味があります。それは実質的な歴史であり、郵便切手の出現以来の民族、国家、大陸の発展に関する視覚的な記録なのです。
